چکیده
Gene expression profiling (GEP)-based prognostic signatures are rapidly integrated into clinical decision-making for systemic management of breast cancer patients. However, GEP remains relatively underdeveloped loco-regional risk assessment. Yet, local-regional recurrence (LRR), especially early after surgery, is associated with poor survival. was performed on two independent luminal-like cohorts patients developing (≤ 5 years surgery) or late (>5 years) LRR and used, by training testing approach, to build a gene signature able intercept women at LRR. The data in silico datasets third cohort were used explore its value. Analysis the first lead identification three genes, CSTB, CCDC91 ITGB1, whose expression, derived principal component analysis, generated 3-gene significantly both (p-value: <0.001 0.005, respectively), overcoming discriminatory capability age, hormone receptor status therapy. Remarkably, integration these variables leads an AUC 0.878 (95% CI: 0.810-0.945). In we found that classifier retained association, showing higher values relapsed Moreover, additional cohort, relapse-free survival (HR 2.88; 95% CI 1.11-7.49, p-value: 0.030). Our represents new exploitable tool aid treatment choice recurrence.

Predictors of loco-regional recurrence and cancer-related death after breast cancer surgery.
To determine which tumor-related factors might predispose the patient to loco-regional recurrence or death and the impact of these factors on the different types of events. We retrospectively analyzed the data of 1991 women between January 1998 and March 2010 for a first primary nonmetastatic breast cancer and treated with surgery and neo-adjuvant/adjuvant therapy. The overall survival distribu...

15 صفحه اولIsolated Loco-Regional Recurrence of Breast Cancer – Established and Innovative Therapy Concepts
The incidence of isolated loco-regional recurrence of breast cancer is between 2–20%. It constitutes the most common type of breast cancer recurrence. In contrast to distant metastasis, a number of curative therapies are available to treat isolated loco-regional recurrence of breast cancer. Screening for early detection and regular examinations as part of a recommended follow-up programme is im...
متن کاملRadiation dose escalation for loco-regional recurrence of breast cancer after mastectomy
BACKGROUND Radiation is a standard component of treatment for patients with locoregional recurrence (LRR) of breast cancer following mastectomy. The current study reports the results of a 10% radiation dose escalation in these patients. METHODS 159 patients treated at MD Anderson Cancer Center between 1994-2006 with isolated LRR after mastectomy alone were reviewed. Patients in the standard t...
متن کاملA microRNA Signature Associated with Early Recurrence in Breast Cancer
Recurrent breast cancer occurring after the initial treatment is associated with poor outcome. A bimodal relapse pattern after surgery for primary tumor has been described with peaks of early and late recurrence occurring at about 2 and 5 years, respectively. Although several clinical and pathological features have been used to discriminate between low- and high-risk patients, the identificatio...
